Estes Rocket Engineering

I bought two model rocket kits from a reliable manufacturer (Estes) to try to learn the basics of model rocketry. Neither launch was a “success” per se, but I did learn a lot about rocket building. The first launch did fire correctly, but got stuck in the nearby trees. In retrospect, a forest wasn’t an ideal launch spot. The second rocket I made, I embedded an AirTag and an altimeter to track on the rocket. The second launch was conducted in an abandoned parking lot, but the rocket exploded midair and ejected the electrical components to an unknown fate. I was able to recover the rest of the rocket.
